“PIANOGIRL” TETIANA PANKO'S STORY

 

Tetiana started to play the piano at age six, on a neighbor’s old out of tune upright. Who could imagine this would lead her to graduate with honors from a Conservatory and would one day make her family of engineers so proud?

 

Believe it or not, a talented girl from Ukrainian province she has only got a chance to play on a real grand piano after ten years of study, as her hometown did not even have one of them!

 

Tetiana successfully completed her Master’s Degree in Musical Art at the Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy of Ukraine in 2007. For three more years she took post graduate program preparing her for a PhD in History of Music. Being interested in a musical criticism, this young pianist also dedicated several years to a musical journalist’s and editor’s career. “That was my trick to be able to attend the best concerts for free and meet my favorite artists in person”, she jokes.

For almost eight years Tetiana was a piano teacher in a unique musical school for adults, while at the same time she engaged with several classical ensembles until PianoGirl developed her solo shows. Twice she received The Kiev Mayor’s Award for outstanding musical artist in Ukraine's capital city.

 

In 2009 successfuly providing piano entertainment for numerous events led her to work for major cruise lines and luxury hotels abroad. She confesses that this “was her dream came true”. Musician who proudly could say that listeners have enjoyed her performance on The Seven Seas, truly all around the world.

 

Tetiana started to sing requests from guest's favorite songs and she became aware that they had nicknamed her “PianoGirl” after Billy Joel's famous hit.

Now PianoGirl can please her audience with a repertoire of almost 1000 popular songs!

The audiences can enjoy a great mix of sing-a-long favorites and hit wonders from the Jazz Age and from the 50's to the present from artists such as Elton John, The Eagles, The Beatles and more current tunes from artists such as Adele, Pink and Lady Gaga, just to name a few.

 

PianoGirl is not afraid to mix styles, perform evergreens or latest Billboard collection. Tetiana will definitely make you smile decorating simple pop melody with an elegant classy improvisation. Who said that Beethoven is boring? You haven't just heard PianoGirl's version...
